Soulless Prince: Awakening was inspired by the question of “What if there were more bodies than people to go in them?” and the Isekai genre in general. Originally, Reed’s character was supposed to be less of an influence, but over time, he became the hot mess that took over the show.

Summary
Ten years ago, Reed fell into a world not his own by an accident of fate. Eking out a modest life, he paid little attention to politics until events began to feel unnervingly familiar: Prince Solace awakens, the Crown Competition is announced, and a deadly embezzlement plot is uncovered.
With growing dread, Reed realizes he might be his least favorite character in a book he once read—and the story is heading straight for The Bad Ending! Spurred to take action before too many people die, Reed must convince the world to change course before it’s too late.
